The Indian elephant is the official state animal of Kerala, Karnatak and Jharkhand.
Here it is greatly respected and closely connected to Lord Ganesha as all over India.
they are treated well in forests and are able to find their own roots very well.
In Kerala, they are also tamed for ride and working purposes.
In Karnatak, they are found closer to slow watershed areas.
However in Jharkhand, they are known for power demonstration and are used as heavy load lifter and bamboo crushers.
Though taming them or pressurising and defect is a crimnal offence and they are protected in terms of law.
This species of Elephant has smaller ears than Asian Elephant and has smaller size also.
It is much separate from it's Asian relative in behaviour and nature and require Indian conditions to grow up and settle.
Normally mostly found in rain forests, It is also easily visible to the Bamboo growing areas in North, North-Eastern and and South India.
The most glorious creatures of these species can be witnessed in two national parks including Jim Corbet Park and Kaziranga park.
The 1st one is located in Uttarakhand where the elephants are very well nurtured.
Though the 2nd one mentioned above is located in North East in Assam and here Elephants of India prefer water sources that are preserved well for them.
yet both areas can be visioned under threats from pochers and to combat them special groups of forest guards are trained to protect Indian Elephants.
The Indian species of Elephant is also witnessed throwing away cautions to Sugarcane farms and helping themselves to large amount of sweet source located in canes.
They prefer it for strengthening their physical cape and enjoy sugarcane in large numbers.
However evidences of hurting Elephants by sugar cane farms owners had increased in recent times and hence Indian Forest department has stepped up for their safety.
This conflict is also known as ‘Ethno-ecological disturbance’ and Indian government officials have asked for it’s recovery in rural areas.
Recently in 2018 recorded Bee buzz sounds are located in various trains to throw away elephant so it can be helpful in protecting them via train accidents.
It was earlier considered by forest guards that they become trap while moving trains approach due to which accidents were recorded in huge figurs.
However it is also analysed that Elephants in India did not tolerate Bee sounds and to swivel them away it would work wel for which devices were developed and now settled in Train engines.
What is the major challenge is balance between Elephants and Farmers that is the most critical for their safety.
Scientists believe that if both can limit their boundaries and settlement can be done without harming each other then Elephants can be conserved well.
Ultimately Indian Elephant is unique, require great Indian conditions and has been living well in Indian forests.
