Great Indian Bustard


It is a beautiful Indian bird that is also one of the heavy waits in flying birds. The bird is generally mostly around 16 kgs which is heavy and not easy to take flight but manages it's body well. It's expand of wings is perfect and help it rotate it's body while tilting it's wait to fly. The bird has self defence and great awareness of it's environment. It is very quick to react when movement is caused and takes off. Awared of it's safety well, the bird is also able to use nature for it's diversion. It is the state bird of Rajisthan where it's hunting for games is banned. Generally it is also found in Hariyana, Gujarat and Andhra pradesh where for it's conservation sanctuaries are developed. Certain other areas also consider it's lively position but due to heavy gaming it has been lost from there now. There are various natural creatures that can make this bird it's pray. Generally it is hunted by sharp clawed Sprouted Leopard in Rajisthan who is also found in trees and can counter the bird in bushes. Some lizards sometimes also try to counter the bird and by mistake their deaths occur. Great Bustards sometimes also get infected in heavy numbers and natural cause also result in their deaths. Humans have been it's biggest threat as they are able to use fire, warhead and pistols. The sound frightens the bird and it quickly takes off but in case of dry fires it has harder chances to escape. Hence to avoid Poching governments in local areas take serious action for their safety. Some local communities also try to contribute for the bird's safety. For the Bishnoi community this bird is a sacred creature and it is considered as great lord's messangers by them. They are also in commitment under annexure 16 of their 32 rules for it's protection. What is the key consent to protect Great Bustard is to make sure that they not get caught in challenging situations. Though they are still found in good numbers, know their location well, Stil it is our responsibility to save them and help in their existence.
