The beginning of the journey takes place with inauguration and for a tournament like La Grand Quiz Tournoi it has to be special so it started with 3 presentations done by dignitaries from the world stage of blind quizzing.
The first presentation showcased the evolution and impact of such a tournament, , the 2nd one highlighted the role of prominent delegates round the globe and the last one showed the top 20 countries to watch out for during all 3 rounds of the contest, and it was a perfect display.
After the lighting and showcase,it was time for crackers and with officialon the stage, they announced the tournament to be open and the beginning of round 1of La Grande Quiz Tournoi.
To give a brief outline, the technology that was going to be used had to be Lebranz, Mizolo, Orbit reader, Dux sound, Sphinx audio braille sound and Obi record premium and it was all arranged under supervision of technical aid from the French Telecast support network.
Game 1 started in decent form for all 20 countries to showcase in Dubai. India did have a light start but the leader caught up and both the vice captain and the captain helped India to finish at 3rd spot, but unfortunately the 16 countries who finished bottom had to say goodbye and their journey ended here.
Similar to this, the 2nd game that was held in Singapore was getting more to gear up in speed, now 192 countries were left and Indian team caught more pace here beating the other contenders and they progressed 1 spot further to 2nd while like the 1st game, 16 more countries who finished at bottom were heading back to home.
Now it went towards China where 176 countries were left , Mr. pant had a word with team to speed the best so they can face lowest country in 1st knockout to come and they did live up to expectations closing over Swiss to do better but like in previous 2 games, here 16 more countries who were at bottom has to see their tournament ending and all 20 countries at wished them well.
It was time to turn the heat on in Japan now, India finishing at top had to face Tuvalu the 160th country and it was a knock out match of 2 rounds where Tuvalu had made tactical pressure but Mr. Pant waited for their mistakes and it proved handy enough for them.
Using match awareness the team easily handled the match and finished with 6 to 10 mistakes, 4 less than the opponent meaning Tuvalu lost by 20 points and India was through to the 2nd round of La Grande Quiz tournoi that would take place in August in different parts of Europe.
It is just a start but the team India is pleased, a short session was led by captain and coach after the end of round 1 in India to express gratitude and they all are hopeful for better performances in August til more such updates come, for now its cheers from charlie..
