हर साल 26 जनवरी आती है, पर हर बार वही नहीं रहती।
समय बदलता है, चेहरे बदलते हैं, पर उस सुबह की हवा में तिरंगे की वही गरिमा तैरती रहती है।
मुझे आज भी याद है—स्कूल के मैदान में ठंडी धूप, हाथ में छोटा सा झंडा, और मंच से गूंजता संविधान का पाठ। तब गणतंत्र एक शब्द था; आज वह जिम्मेदारी है।

समय के साथ समझ आया कि गणतंत्र केवल परेड और सलामी नहीं,
वह उन आवाज़ों का भरोसा है जिन्हें सुना जाना चाहिए,
वह उन प्रश्नों की आज़ादी है जिन्हें पूछना ज़रूरी है,
और वह उन शब्दों की नैतिकता है जिन्हें लिखते समय लेखक काँपता भी है।

एक लेखक के लिए गणतंत्र दिवस आत्ममंथन का दिन भी है।
क्या हमने सच लिखा?
क्या हमने कमज़ोर के पक्ष में कलम उठाई?
क्या हमारी पंक्तियाँ सत्ता से नहीं, संवेदना से जन्मीं?

संविधान की किताब जब हाथ में आती है,
तो लगता है—यह केवल कानून नहीं,
बल्कि लाखों अधूरे सपनों की सामूहिक हस्तलिपि है।
हर अनुच्छेद एक वादा है, और हर नागरिक उस वादे का उत्तरदायी।
